The book was published in 1988 by the Berlin-based publisher Vis-à-Vis. After BAMBULE and JÜNGLINGE, it was Jürgen Baldiga’s third independent photo book. Here we find a broad range of female impersonators taking revenge on their mothers. In their self-made cosmos, they enjoy a heightened sense of life — raised quite literally by the heels — against the grey everyday world of assigned roles.
