Photography, diaries and queer West Berlin
Baldiga moved from Essen to West Berlin in 1979. From 1985 onward he created a radical and intimate photographic record of friends, lovers, bodies, nightlife and everyday life. His work is inseparable from the history of queer West Berlin and the AIDS crisis.
The archive brings together photographs, diary excerpts, books, films, exhibition documentation and biographical material. It is maintained by The Estate of Jürgen Baldiga.
