BAMBULE was published in 1986 by the Berlin-based publisher Vis-à-Vis and was Jürgen Baldiga’s first independent photo book. In this book, Baldiga shows people from his own circle as well as Berlin passers-by and chance encounters. The book marks the beginning of his public work as a photographer: direct, unsmoothed, attentive to faces, postures, and the social margins.
